Medication Management
Medication can be a valuable part of treatment, but it’s not the whole picture. Whether you're considering medication for the first time, looking for a new approach because your current treatment isn't working, or simply wondering if there's a better option, medication management starts with understanding what you're experiencing and what you want to improve.
At Rae Psychiatry, medication is approached as one part of a broader treatment plan. We consider your symptoms, history, previous medication trials, side effects, and response to treatment before deciding whether to start, change, adjust, or continue a medication.
Once medication is started, follow-up visits are an important part of treatment. We take the time to understand what has actually changed not just whether a medication is “working,” but how you’re feeling, functioning, and experiencing everyday life. We look at benefits, side effects, and any new concerns, and make adjustments when needed. The goal is to make sure treatment continues to fit you, rather than simply continuing a medication because it was prescribed.
