At Rae Psychiatry, we approach mental health care the way we believe it should be: collaborative, thoughtful, and grounded in genuine connection. We know that healing doesn’t come from quick fixes or rushed visits, it happens when someone takes the time to understand not just your symptoms, but your story.

This is a space for real conversations and meaningful progress. We look beyond the surface to understand the root of what you are feeling, how your brain functions, and what it will actually take to help you feel more like yourself again.

Rae Psychiatry was founded by Shimmy Sichel, a board-certified psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner with extensive experience across emergency settings, trauma-informed care, and neuroscience-based treatment planning. His background in health care, combined with a lifelong passion for psychology and human behavior, shaped a clinical approach that is both highly informed and deeply personal. Shimmy brings a strong foundation in diagnostic precision, psychopharmacology, and systems-level thinking, but his work is equally driven by empathy, curiosity, and respect for each patient’s lived experience.

Rae Psychiatry was founded to offer something different- care that’s clinically sound, but also deeply respectful of your individuality. We bring a strong foundation in psychiatric science and a steady, down-to-earth approach to treatment. Rae Psychiatry is a safe space that provides caring treatment, free of judgment; just someone who will listen carefully, think critically, and walk alongside you with honesty and care.

We work with people navigating anxiety, depression, ADHD, emotional overwhelm, and more, but we don’t reduce anyone to a diagnosis. What matters most is how you experience your mind, and how we can support real change in the areas that feel stuck, scattered, or out of sync.

Our goal is not to “fix” anyone- it’s to help you function better, feel more steady, and reconnect with the parts of yourself that might have been buried under stress, fear, or exhaustion. That work looks different for everyone. Whether it involves medication, new strategies, deeper insight, or all of the above, we’ll figure it out together, with clarity, compassion, and care that actually makes sense.

Conditions We Treat

Anxiety

Worry, fear, avoidance, or restlessness can take many forms. We help patients identify anxiety patterns, understand the brain-body connection, and build tools for calm, clarity, and confidence.

ADHD

More than just distraction, ADHD affects motivation, follow-through, emotional regulation, and how we interact with the world. We focus on diagnosis, medication, and everyday strategies tailored to your environment and goals.

Depression

Whether it feels like flatness, heaviness, or self-criticism, depression can affect every part of life. Treatment is aimed at restoring energy, interest, and a sense of self, not just lifting mood.

Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD)

Intrusive thoughts and compulsive behaviors can become overwhelming and isolating. We help patients understand the mechanisms of OCD and work toward freedom from its grip.

Trauma and PTSD

Past events, big or small, can leave lasting emotional and physical imprints. We create a space to safely address trauma and begin to repair the nervous system’s response.

Grief and Loss

Grief can take many forms. Whether you're navigating loss through death, illness, or life change, we provide thoughtful, compassionate support to help you move through it in your own way.
